5. Only Rain (instrumental)
9. Rain, Steam and Speed (instrumental)
Aliens Don't Change Lanes
It’s them – they’re here again
The aliens that speak sand
They bend the space
They loop the time
They want to understand
Why humans are so beautiful
Yet spiteful little things sometimes
The universe is a big place
And there’s still some room to grow
Aliens don’t change lanes
It’s them – they’ve come tonight
The aliens with no face
They spin the words
They turn the worlds
To find another space
Their potential is beautiful
Beyond our wildest hopes and dreams
If only we could grow a bit
And rise to earn their trust
Some time from now it all will seem
Yes, momentarily so clear
The understanding will keep sinking in
It’ll drive away the fear
Yet the aliens, they’re here
We must keep on learning
Yet none of us speaks sand
It’s them – they came at last
The aliens of the past
They learn our ways
They teach us means
To build a change that lasts
We need all help that we can get
They'll only get us started, oh
We have to go the extra mile
But none of us speaks sand!
Some time from now it all will seem
Yes, momentarily so clear
The understanding will keep sinking in
It’ll drive away the fear
Yet the aliens, they’re here
We must keep on learning
Yet none of us speaks sand
Aliens don’t change lanes
Ghost Story
[Radio transmission]
Various apparitions and spooks, I fear to say ghosts, have been spotted in the neighborhood.
People are advised to lock their doors and turn up the lights to avoid attracting the attention of the apparitions.
Officials are still investigating the nature of the phenomenon, meanwhile please follow the appropriate guidelines to avoid contact with the spooks.
And if any should creep up on you – God help us all!
The night is falling and doors are closed
Lights are turned up now everywhere
But almost no-one knows
That the creatures of the night are drawn to light
When you feel your skin is tingling
When the hair on your neck is prickling
They are here
Close by
Spooks, ghosts and ghouls crawl their nightly rounds
You’d think they’re figments of your mind
And yet the spook attack
Hides right behind your back
Right outside your reach
When you feel your skin is tingling
When the hair on your neck is prickling
They are here
Close by
Memory
There are so many things I don’t remember
So many moments that I think are dead to me
Passages in books that I’m quite sure I’ve read
Storylines and heroes gone for good
It’s almost as if there is no continuum
No endless chain of days to call a life
The snapshots follow one another
In a manner that is rather disconnected from reality
(Memory)
Memory, oh so quiet
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
I once thought dementia came down when you’re older
Me, I’ve forgotten since the day that I was born
Connections that are flooded by the stream of time
Old ideas that I think I had – all gone
The tears in the rain, now lost forever
They glitter only by Tannhäuser Gate
The android sleeping, dreaming of the sheep
How Rutger made him real by nothing but the simple make believe?
(Memory)
Memory, oh so quiet
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
Yet there are things that I don’t want to remember
Things that haunt me when I go to sleep
The ghosts of the past lurk right behind the curtain of reality
The curtain of reality
(Memory)
Memory, oh so quiet
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
Where are you?
(Memory)
Sunshine
Sunshine in your eyes, sometimes a gateway to a new world
Like Sunday mornings when we’ve all the time in the world to wake up
The twinkle in your eyes will light the way all the way to farthest lands
To fantasies unlike anything we’ve ever dreamed of before
It’s like travel without moving
We’re not going, no, we’re flying
It’s like travel without moving
We’re not going, no, we’re flying
We’re dancing through the night, the world around us spins into a blur
Time takes a break and leaves us falling deeper in this thing called love
We ride the roller-coaster like our lives depended on it, oh yes, they do
Let’s scale the mountainside and make a chain to fight against the wind
It’s like travel without moving
We’re not going, no, we’re flying
It’s like travel without moving
We’re not going...
Lost in Space
Testing, testing
Can anybody hear me?
Hello? Hello?
Can anybody hear me?
Testing, testing
Can anybody hear me?
Hello? Hello?
Is there anyone out there?
Anyone? Anyone?
Hello? Hello?
Anyone?
Anyone?

Geek and a Biker
You want a geek and a biker
And a cook and a hiker
And a star and a moon
But I’m just me
A Casanova, Gold’n Retriever
Want a rebel, a believer
And a serf and a seer
But it’s me
Who am I supposed to be?
What, some kind of fantasy?
The more I peel, the less I see
The truth remains a mystery
You want a rock and a river
A gorilla and a giver
A Corey and a River
But it’s me
You want a king and a piper
Baby seal and a sniper
A Picard and a Riker
But it’s me
Who am I supposed to be?
What, some kind of fantasy?
The more I peel, the less I see
The truth remains a mystery
No-one is asking this of me
Except the shades of history
I dig my heels, for now I see
A little bit more clearly
The you, I think, is really me…
Who am I supposed to be?
What, some kind of fantasy?
The more I peel, the less I see
The truth remains a mystery

You Are (feat. Silja)
You are – you are my destiny
I can’t imagine the journey
Without you there sharing it (with me)
You are – you are my everything
You are the source for the meaning
Of life and the universe and everything
You are – you are so beautiful
Oh yes, the kindness you radiate
The wholeness you bestow (on the world)
You are – you are my savior
Without you I’d have drowned under
All the temptations of the world
